On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. Given the size of the data impacted, the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is expected to take several months. UnitedHealth Group believes this situation will impact “a substantial proportion of people in America” and is offering immediate credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions. All services must be medically necessary. Long-Term Services & Supports benefits must be authorized by your Service Coordinator, based on an assessment of your needs and a plan you develop together. 

For health care benefits, your Primary Care Provider will work with you to make sure you get the services you need. These services must be given by your Primary Care Provider or by another provider that your Primary Care Provider refers you to. 

Some services may:

  • Have coverage limits.
  • Need a doctor’s order.
  • Need prior approval.

*Some Medicaid participants may not have all the benefits listed.
