I’d like to work or return to work. I’m actively looking for work.
Get Started: This is exciting! Your potential is waiting to be tapped into. Whether you’re already submitting applications or still need to get a resume together, we at PA Health & Wellness support you.
Tap In: Know you don't have to do this alone. Not only can you lean on your network, but there is also a whole network here to help now and along your employment journey.
Action Items:
Connect with your Service Coordinator (SC) and ensure that you have your interest in employment noted as a goal in your service plan. This ensures we are supporting you. You can revise or remove this at any time.
How much support would you like in finding work?
If you would like full service, discuss with your SC about being referred to PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR). When connected with OVR, the VR Counselor will discuss benefits counseling as they help you create your employment plan. You can also talk with your SC about PA CareerLink® services.
- If you would like some support, discuss with your SC about getting connected with PA CareerLink® services.
If you want minimal support, ask your SC about Benefits Counseling. Your SC will connect you and the Certified Benefits Counselor will be able to help you have a solid understanding as your move forward in your employment journey. We suggest receiving benefits counseling at least every 2-3 years.
- Ticket to Work Helpline – You can call on your own or with your SC. If you call on your own, let your SC know when you called and if the representative asked you if you would like to be referred to WIPA (Work Incentive Planning and Assistance). If the rep did, you should receive an initial call within 5 days of your call to the Helpline.
Share with your close family and friends that you're looking for work. It's helpful to have a supportive team of folks cheering you on. They may even come across an opportunity or know someone looking for a person with your talent. This can also be helpful when asking for references. Not sure who those supportive folks may be? Talk with your SC.
Keep track of where you apply and when. On LinkedIn? Make sure it’s updated.
